The NYC DH steering group met recently and agreed that we want to be more transparent about our discussions, decisions, and plans. To that end, we’ve made available the minutes of our October 6 meeting (via Google doc) here. The major work underway is preparing for an open meeting of the NYC DH community (on February 9) and a set of workshops offered by NYC DH institutions that same week. Stay tuned for further news as plans take shape.
Any member of the NYC DH community is welcome to attend steering group meetings. We will announce the dates here on the forum.
Any member may also volunteer to join the steering group, which is a working committee. We are not a formal body, nor do we have written governance policies. We operate mostly by consensus. Those of us who established the steering group did so because we wish to contribute our time to organizing activities of the NYC DH community. Members of the steering group are therefore expected to be active participants, volunteering for tasks and working groups as they arise. We welcome you to join us!
