Doctoral Candidate in English
Christina is a doctoral candidate in English at the Graduate Center, CUNY, currently working on her dissertation on Sound Studies and American Transcendentalism and a companion sound recording project called The Walden Soundscape. She’s a co-organizer for Better to Speak, an advocacy group for women adjuncts at CUNY. She teaches at Hunter College and NJCU.

My dissertation studies the influence of music and soundscape on American Transcendentalism and Pragmatism. My sound recording project maps sounds at Walden Pond to corresponding passages from Henry David Thoreau’s writings.
