2/25 @ 6:30 Digital Experiments Lab: Keywords in Epigraphs
In order to focus more attention on producing experiments in our regular meetings and to foster greater continuity in our collaboration, we are moving to weekly meetings that will be set up as labs focused on a specific question each week. Each question will be devised so that it can be approached with a variety of digital tools and approaches. We will begin each meeting by introducing the topic and broad question for the lab, then work on it using whatever approaches participants want to explore. At the end of the meeting, all of the participants will share their results/conclusions with the rest of the group.
The meetings will be every Tuesday at 6:30 in room 105 of 244 Greene St. through April. In the spirit of getting the ball rolling, we are starting this coming Tuesday. The first lab will address Keywords: What words continually reappear in the epigraphs of a given author, genre, or period?
We will have texts/datasets for people to experiment on as well as a range of tools to explore, but we also encourage you to bring digital versions of the texts that you’re interested in. You should also bring your computer so that you can explore different tools during the meeting. Hope to see you there!
