    Digital Antiquity Working Group
    Wednesday, May 7, 5-8 pm
    Studio@Butler, Butler Library Room 208b

Digital tools for research on antiquity are as varied as the fields involved in studying the ancient world. There are text search tools, papyrology databases, 3D-modeling programs, and more. And as these tools become more advanced, opportunities for research expand.

Come to the first meeting of the Digital Antiquity Working Group, devoted to exploring both existing and emerging technology for researching the ancient world. Working on new text databases? Natural language processing? Statistical modeling? Image processing? Please share your experiences in developing new technologies in your research! And even if your current research does not incorporate developing new tools, please come to share your use of existing tools and to discover new technology that could be useful for future projects! We hope to spark conversations, ideas, and new partnerships.

All interested students, researchers, and librarians from the NYC area are welcome to this event!
