art.nycdh.org<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now we have our own customizable wordpress theme. \u00a0Will better serve our purposes. \u00a0Could also make this a public facing site, Google searchable. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Do we want to make sure that only NY area people join? \u00a0This may be useful later on, especially if we start to attract hordes of members. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fall Symposium<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rauschenberg Foundation &#8211; Art and technology. \u00a050th anniversary of EAT (Experiments in Art and Technology). \u00a0October 14th-23rd was the original run of the armory exhibition, October 14th would be a great day for the symposium.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">FS has started a conversation with Jer Thorp, also a connection with MIT (MIT Digital Group?) <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Half-day: Intro, keynote, panel. \u00a0If possible some sort of meetup after the symposium, could have the panel discuss submissions. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ES brings up that the European Conference on Computer Vision is happening simultaneously. \u00a0Maybe we could hold it the next week.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Programming sounds like a lot to do in one day, perhaps we could have pre-submissions and vet the questions so that certain topics don\u2019t monopolize the conversation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Have to find a way to get a larger audience, but also to find computer scientists who are specifically interested in art historical research and pedagogy. \u00a0The overlap is not very large. \u00a0Perhaps we could engage on a broader level, undergraduate education for example. \u00a0People are going to be coming for teaching and for research. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our original model was the New Museum\u2019s 7 on 7 conference, artists and engineers collaborate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">KK is not in favor of a keynote speaker. \u00a0He believes that since we don\u2019t have a large constituency yet we should have our local group present to outsiders. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">FS: Can\u2019t forget the Rauschenberg\u2019s mission, need to talk about art and technology. \u00a0Could talk about how artists are using data, rather than just art historians.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rauschenberg Foundation wants to livestream it. \u00a0IFA has a mobile livestream setup, but would stream through IFA website.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ES: Aim to record the status quo and see where we are headed. \u00a0Could publish and edit the conversations that we have, could archive them and come back to them later.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Could showcase projects by artists like Matthew Epler and then have an open conversation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Deena Engel: \u00a0Computer scientist working at NYU, is working with her students at MoMA with old computer art, trying to update to view on current tech, interesting questions of artist\u2019s intent.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ES: we could involve Rick Johnson, he scans the back of paintings and drawings and analyzes thread counts etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A discussion ensues concerning whether we should organize around CAA.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"http:\/\/jiminy.medialab.sciences-po.fr\/eat_datascape\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">EAT datascape from SciencesPo<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In attendance: Francine Snyder &#8211;
