Call For Submissions: Panel Participation and Digital Posters
Digital Humanities at NJIT (DH@NJIT), in collaboration with the New Jersey Digital Humanities Consortium (NJDHC) is pleased to announce its 2021 Digital Humanities Showcase, hosted by New Jersey Institute of Technology. Following its postponement due to COVID-19, it will be held this Spring on April 23, 2021 at 11:00am – 2:00pm. The program will include panels and a digital poster session followed by a NJDHC sponsored on DH “successes” in the context of COVID-19. Please see the program here.
Part of our aim this year for the 2021 Showcase is to acknowledge the changes COVID-19 has introduced and to initiate new studies of how writing, engaging, and teaching in the Digital Humanities will now advance. We welcome your contributions to the Digital Poster session and the NJDHC-sponsored “DH Success Stories” panel.
Poster Session Submissions: Deadline April 9th
The Poster Session is now accepting submissions. “Poster” videos will be hosted as part of an extended exhibit through DH@NJIT. We welcome submissions for new or ongoing Digital Humanities projects. A select number of projects and videos will be chosen for a live poster exhibition, complete with an opportunity to discuss and answer questions about your project.
Recommended formatting and requested information:
Please submit a 100-word summary of your project together with a 2-minute video (100 MB max) presentation demonstrating the work and some of its core features. If you have special technical requirements or expect potential challenges, please include them in the comments section of the submission form. For any questions, please contact: DHShowcase@njit.edu.
Please submit the requested materials through this Google Form.
The deadline for all materials (recorded videos and any complementary exhibition files, etc) is April 9, 2021.
Panel Participation Proposals: Deadline April 9th
We are now accepting submissions for the NJDHC-sponsored panel at this event, which will focus on DH “successes.” Despite the many challenges imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, what positive things have emerged? Have you been able to publish in new ways/forums? Have you found new opportunities to access archival materials and/or to work with other collaborators? Have you been able to incorporate more DH work into your teaching and/or research? This session will take place in the afternoon portion of the showcase. Submit a brief description of what you would like to present about, including your name and institution, by April 9, 2021.
