Are you directing, coordinating or planning a digital humanities/scholarship/research/teaching center? If so, we hope you will take advantage of a unique opportunity to meet and speak with others involved in other such centers.
The New Jersey Digital Humanities Consortium invites all interested to a one-day workshop on May 30th, from 10:00a to 4:00pm at Montclair State University in New Jersey.
There is no charge to attend this collaborative event.
For those considering traveling, we have access to a limited number of on-campus housing options at rates significantly less than surrounding hotels (and far more convenient). Click http://olcweld.eventbrite.com for more information.
The goal of the workshop is to bring together faculty, librarians, administrators, and staff who are involved in digital centers in order to share ideas, experiences, challenges, and solutions, and offer a forum for potential collaborations. The plan for the day will be flexible, shaped to meet the needs of those attending. The idea is to create a forum where those both new and experienced in digital humanities center or organizations have an opportunity to learn from, network, and potentially collaborate, with each other.
The meeting is planned for the day prior to the OLC Collaborate with Emerging Learning Design conference. A major thread in this year’s event is digital humanities and the Emerging Learning Design Journal will be publishing its first special issue, focused on the digital humanities, on the Friday of the event. There will also be a Cohort Meeting dedicated to the digital humanities. Details and information on the OLC Collaborate with Emerging Learning Design can be found at http://bit.ly/olcweld
There will be no cost for the pre-conference workshop, regardless of whether or not you attend the ELD conference.
