Jessica Backus holds an MA in Art History from Hunter College and a BA from Columbia University. She was formerly associate director at the gallery Peres Projects in Berlin and worked in special curatorial projects at the auction house Phillips. Forthcoming publications include “On the Question of Real Modern Art in East Germany: Werner Tübke’s ‘The Five Continents'” in the New German Review. She has translated or edited publications for the Neue Galerie, the Fondation Beyeler, Steidl Verlag, and many others.
