Considering the discursive and associative nature of cultural heritage data that has been pointed out by various scholars, the speakers will raise the questions of its relevant representation within the database on the demonstration of the work-in-progress “Que.St” mobile app. Que.St is a mapping project for representing culturally significant locations in Saint-Petersburg. First, through their links with historic personalities associated with them and, second, through the mobile application which provides users with interactive novels and quests around the city. Designed as an open-source project, the project’s mission is not only to raise awareness about culturally significant sites among the local community but also to engage them in the evaluation of historic locations and collection of relevant data.
Note to all attendees: Session leaders will contact you with additional information, including a meeting link, for each individual workshop, event, or demonstration.
