Not exactly musicology, but related to digital music. This should be an interesting event (details below). Mark Dresser has been pioneering telematic performances that include free improvisation for a number of years now. I’m not as familiar with the other composers. Best, sean

Bassist/composer Mark Dresser is one of three composers whose work is being premiered in Time Axiom, a December 15 concert in the telematic music medium: live performance via the Internet by musicians in different geographic locations.

Other musicians whose work is being premiered include Elizabeth Hoffman, and Sarah Weaver. Time Axiom utilizes renowned acoustic and electronic musicians, static and processed video, and the temporal and spatial properties of the telematic medium. Concertgoers can attend at venues in NYC, Belfast and Zurich.

All three composers will be located at NYU Silver Center, Room 220, 32 Waverly Place, New York. Free admission. RSVP required via email to sarah@sarahweaver.org or via Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/700705309948906/. Concert starts at 3:00 p.m. EST.
