Hi! We are creating an external index of the records on our Neatline map. We would like to be able to link to these records on the map directly, as if the user has clicked the record on the map and the pop-up box has already opened. Is this possible on Neatline?

Hi Heather,

Yes, but you would have to add some custom made php. Are you comfortable
doing that?

Hi Alex,

I’ve had some experience with php from Code Academy, but I don’t know that I’m comfortable adding my own custom-made php with my skill level, and I don’t think anyone else in my office would be either. Do you have any suggestions for how I can remedy this, or where I can find out more on how to make php for Neatline?

Thanks,
Heather

The Omeka forums might be a good place to ask, if you haven’t already. Others out there with Neatline experience might point you in the right direction.

Like Patrick suggests, the Omeka forums are great. If you feel brave, the
page you want to look out in the Neatline documentation is “Creating themes
for individual Neatline exhibits.
I might’ve been wrong about the php. This might be simple javascript in the
script.js file. I haven’t looked at them directly, so if you don’t come up
with an easy solution, the forums is the place to ask. Surely someone has
done this already.

Best,
a.

Thanks for your help, Alex and Patrick! I’ll see what I can do with further help from the forums.
