Hello All,I’m happy to have found this group on Omeka. I am in need of assistance with working with Omeka (exhibition uploads, updating, etc.). I’m working in an archive that is heavily involved with Omeka but I have no IT support nor was I left with any sort of “how to” information from my predecessor. Would any of you know of any documentation, webinars or workshops for Omeka in the NYC area? I know most workshops were conducted in 2012 and earlier, but I figured it was worth a shot to ask on this forum for some advice.

      Thank you all in advance.

      Best,Erin

A simple answer would be to look at the Omeka documentation page: http://omeka.org/codex/Documentation. It is quite useful and has a lot of information for a novice users up to more advanced themers and developers.

As far as local resources go, I don’t think we have anything currently on the schedule, but I do know that Omeka is growing in popularity and that these types of workshops are likely to happen in the near future.

      Cheers
      Kimon

We have been planning on doing a workshop at METRO, but haven’t scheduled anything. Part of the hang-up has been that not all the plug-ins have been ported over to 2.0 yet, so I was partially waiting on some of that work (I hear a bunch are in testing so probably out soon-ish).

I also wanted to include Neatline in any workshop, but haven’t had time to set up the geoserver.

But we have had multiple requests for an Omeka workshop, so I’m up for doing something. If someone wants to co-teach with me, let me know at jbailey at metro.org and maybe we can work on details.

      Thanks,Jefferson

Thank you, Jefferson. I’m very interested in attending an Omeka workshop so I look forward to hearing when it will happen.

      All the best,

      Erin
