      Columbia University Libraries invites you the kick-off event for our fall semester series of Wikipedia Edit-a-thons on Monday, September 16, 2019.

      Let’s learn about the world’s most used reference website and how it can be improved. How can Wikipedia be more inclusive in content and practice?

      2pm-3pm: A conversation with AfroCrowd‘s Alice Backer and Sherry Antoine and OCLC’s Merrilee Proffitt, editor of Leveraging Wikipedia: Connecting Communities of Knowledge (ALA Editions, 2018).

      3pm-6pm: Edit-a-thon to follow! All experience levels welcome. Snacks served. Create a Wikipedia account and join the Columbia U meetup page beforehand, if possible.
