On Sunday, October 1st, there will be an all-day conference at the Columbia University Butler Library called “Joyce in the Digital Age,” celebrating new computational approaches to the works of James Joyce. It will feature a keynote lecture from the Joycean editor Hans Walter Gabler, as well as presentations from scholars working on digital approaches to Joyce. Anyone interested in mapping, stylometry, data visualization, TEI XML, text analysis, or the works of James Joyce is encouraged to attend. Registration is free, and available through the RSVP link on the conference website:

      https://jonathanreeve.github.io/conference-joyce-digital/

Lunch will be provided. In the afternoon, we’ll host a short introduction to scholarly editing in TEI XML, and then participants will be invited to contribute to the open-source TEI XML scholarly editions of Ulysses and Portrait.

We hope to see you all there on October 1st!

      Dear Jonathan,
I won’t be able to attend the program on October 1st, as I will be in Chicago with my grandchildren. However, I’d like to contact Hans. It’s been a number of years. Can you send me his email address? I’d be much obliged.
