Assistant Professor of English
I’ve lived in Brooklyn for just over five years. Before that I was in Iowa City, Iowa for about ten years. My publishing area is American and global literature with a specialization in urban literature, homesickness, and place studies. At City Tech I teach composition, American literature, globalization and literature, and gothic literature.
My primary interests are American and world literature and culture. Some of my more specialized interests: globalization and literature, global homesickness, peer review, online journal editing, nordic skiing, cycling, obscure or forgotten texts, digital reading practices.
I am the founder and editor of NANO: New American Notes Online, an interdisciplinary, online, peer-reviewed, open-source, open access journal dedicated to sharing new ideas.
